OSC Stream Target IP

Just to clarify, is it correct that the Settings field "OSC Stream Target IP" requires an actual (numeric) IP address, not a (symbolic) domain name? The app accepts a domain name, says it is using the domain name when started, but packets don't seem to go to the domain name. If I replace the domain name by the actual numeric IP address, it works.

The domain name will only work if your phone knows the Domain name of the target device, which would require NetBIOS or WINS support that most phones don't have. As such, I it's most likely that only the IP will work.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Other apps (e.g., Ping) on my iOS phone are able to lookup domain names, so it apparently has some kind of DNS client working. In any case, for now I'll use the numeric IP address.
