How to synchronize signal with impulse

Post by onepra »

Hi, I am working at project to recognize and classify emotions from EEG signal. I am using Muse monitor app with android phone and muse 2 (mu-03). I want to prepare stimulus photos or videos showing at PC or phone screen while recording EEG signal. Do you have any ideas how to synchronize time of showing images with recording signal to recognize when stimulus affect?

In advanced settings there is an option to enable marker buttons. This turns on 5 numbered buttons that you can press to inject a numbered data marker into the recording. Press one when you start your video and you'll be able to tell when you started the video.

Or just note down the time when you play the video. There is a timestamp in the recording, so just make sure your Mac/PC and phone times are in sync.. which they probably already are, as pretty much all devices sync time automatically these days!

If you want to get technical then you can send an electric signal pulse through the AUX-R port, but this is pretty complicated to do and would require some electronics being created.
