Muse 2 signal vs. Muse S signal and high deltas

Post by SamG »

Hello everybody,

I have used the Muse 2 and Mind Monitor for a week now but I'm wondering if the Muse S would have been the better choice. I've seen a YouTube video by Cody Rall about how the Muse S produces cleaner Signals on the TP9 and TP10 sensors (if they are the actual sensors?).
The thing is that I get a high amount of delta waves during meditation and also while looking at the waves and now I'm wondering if it is due to a noisy signal or if this is actually what my brain produces.

Can't seem to get a cleaner signal than this.

My deltas during meditation.

So what do you think? Is it worth getting the Muse S instead or is it just my brain??

Thanks for reading!

High Delta when awake is almost always just a result of a noisy signal.
The Muse S won't magically eliminate signal issues, but because the electrodes are on a soft structure, it a little easier to get the fit right.

Thanks for the quick reply!
In the video they talk about the Muse S using different behind the ear sensors than the Muse 2. Electrodes like the front sensors instead of the rubbery ones!? So it gives a more comparable signal.

Also your own example of a good signal looks better than mine!? And was maybe produced by a Muse S?

I'm already using all the tricks to get a better signal but can't get it any cleaner.

Oh ok, I see. And the same kind of problems occur with the Muse S I assume from yor last reply.
I'll try some more then.
Thank you!

I have been able to get a high quality signal from both the Muse 2 and Muse S. But, I do find the S more comfortable.

Good to know!
I've been able to get a better signal by waring a beanie over the Muse.

This is me just sitting for ten minutes with open eyes:

I think it is pretty normal looking!?

And this is me meditating with eyes closed:

For some reason still the high Delta. I tried it several times and made sure the signal was good, but still the same result.
I don't think it's a problem with the Muse anymore though.
Maybe it's just the way I meditate or maybe some small unconscious eye movements I don't know..

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's my eyes moving really fast. I can feel them moving when I touch them gently. Also the signal is getting more jitter. Must be it.
Thanks for you patience James!
